Atlas Beatrice 'Pat' Edwards Horne

Atlas Beatrice "Pat" Edwards Horne passed away at October 7, 2013 at the New Horizons Senior Center in Gainesville, Georgia. She was 93 years old, being born on April 19, 1920 in the Melvin Hill Community of Polk County, NC.



She was preceded in death by husband Maxwell Michelle Horne, son Phillip Larry Horne, her parents, James M. Edwards and Addie Wilson Edwards, and sisters Bertha, Janie, Rossie and brother, Jake Edwards.



Surviving are her children Dr. James Carrol Horne, Sandra Horne Ryan, Donald Paul Horne, Ronald David Horne. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.



Pat lived most of her days in Green Creek, NC, Landrum SC, and Gillsville, GA, and Gainesville, GA.



Pat was an understanding mother and a great cook, an expert seamstress and had a great zeal for life, but thought her greatest legacy was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved having them around and always talked "baby talk" to the younger ones.



Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. October 9, 2013, in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.



Memorial contributions may be made in Pat Horne's name to the Hospice for the Center for Hospice Care Gainesville, Georgia.
