Marshall McMahan

Marshall McMahan, age 77, of Mount Airy, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, following a sudden illness.
Mr. McMahan was born in Celo, North Carolina on October 18, 1935, to the late Harrison and Rosie Parker McMahan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Flossie Mae Autrey McMahan; sisters, Wilma Sappe' and Juanita Russell; brothers, John and Alvis McMahan. Mr. McMahan was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a retired diesel mechanic in the trucking industry. Mr. McMahan was a member of Cornelia Christian Church.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Ricky Jackson, Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, Darrel and Penny McMahan, Homer; sister, Betty Cooper, Inverness, FL; four grandchildren, Joshua McMahan, Cody McMahan, Taylor Jackson and Alyssa Jackson.
Memorial services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with David Terrell officiating. Entombment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Marine Corps.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the memorial service hour at the funeral home.
