John Brent Jones, age 45, of Gainesville, died on September 30, 2013. Brent was born April 1, 1968, in Bristol TN. He grew up in Gainesville and was graduated from Gainesville High School in 1986.
He was a graduate of Valdosta State University. He was an account executive at the Sidney O. Smith Insurance Agency for 20 years. He attended The First Baptist Church of Gainesville. Brent was a kind, gentle soul who had many friends and who never met a stranger. He mentored many people through his adult life. He was a devoted father and husband.
He is survived by his wife, Marty, his daughters, Katherine, Emmeline and Candler, his parents George and Starlet Jones, and his siblings Lisa Jones Dobbs, Brandon Jones, and Laura Jones Williams.
The memorial service will be held Saturday, October 5, at 11 am at The First Baptist Church of Gainesville, with a gathering of friends in the fellowship hall following the service.
