Danny Ira Sheffield

Danny Ira Sheffield, 62, of Duluth passed away Thursday September 26, 2013 at Athens Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Sheffield was born May 2, 1951 in Dahlonega. He had been a resident of Duluth for most of his life but loved coming home to the mountains of Dawsonville and Dahlonega. His two greatest loves were his family and motorcycles. He was preceded in death by his father, Ira Sheffield.

Surviving are his daughters and son in law, Lisa and Timmy Bottoms, Cumming, Dana Payne, Winder; mother, Floy Sheffield, Winder; grandmother, Sallie Burt, Dawsonville; sisters, Linda Brookshire, Winder, Wanda Roland, Monroe, Sheila Lockridge, Duluth; brother, Bobby Sheffield, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Madison Payne, Chesney Bottoms, Zachary Sheffield; great-granddaughter, Rayleigh Sheffield; nephews, Robert Brookshire, Wesley Brookshire, Damon Lockridge; nieces, Amy Bauer, Jamey Roland, Jessica Roland, Dione Lockridge; a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 2 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Larry Henry will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until 9 and Sunday until service time at the funeral home.
