Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Hazel Lou Chastain, age 80 of Cleveland. Mrs. Chastain passed away Monday, September 23, 2013.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, September 27, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Michael Wilkes officiating. Interment will follow in Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Chastain was born on October 18, 1933 to the late Buron Ambrose Meeks and Bertha Avaline Cook Meeks . She was a retired Tax Examiner with the Internal Revenue Service in Atlanta., where she lived until her retirement. In 1998, she and her husband Paul moved to White County. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Chastain is preceded in death by her daughter, Catherine Ojala and son, Jerry Myers as well as her brothers, L.B.Meeks, and Dean Meeks, and sister, Doris Purvis. Also grandsons, Jonathan Bennett, and Robert Myers Jr.



Survivors include her husband, Paul Chastain of Cleveland; son and daughter in law, Robert and Joanne Myers of Hartwell; son, Steve Myers, of Cartersville; daughter and son in law, Rhonda and David Hopkins of Rex, GA. ; step daughter and husband, Kathy and Harold Driscoll of College Park, step daughter, Annette Smoker, Gainesville; step sons, Steve and Joanna Chastain of Fairburn, Marty Chastain of Griffin, Jeff Chastain of Lovejoy; sister and brother in law , Carolyn and Fred Hunter, McDonough, GA. Mrs. Chastain is also survived by her 26 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild
