Martha Elizabeth 'Betty' Davis Murray

Mrs. Martha Elizabeth "Betty" Davis Murray, age 85, of Cornelia, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013, at Summers Landing-Limestone in Gainesville.

Mrs. Murray was born in Decatur, Georgia on March 28, 1928, to the late Swiff Stanton and Kate Agness Turner Davis. She was the widow of Kenneth Murray. Mrs. Murray was a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia. For a number of years she was a member of The Phebian Sunday school class and later The Friendship Sunday school class. Mrs. Murray was a homemaker.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Stanley Smith, Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Kent and Anne Murray and David and Hope Murray all of Cornelia; nine grandchildren, Deanne Belford, Philip Murray, Lori Watts, Mike Martin, Taylor Murray, Kaitlin Murray, Stan Shubert, Kimberley Ayers and Kevin Smith, and 11 great-grandchildren

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Yonah Memorial Gardens with Larry Whitfield officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, September 23, 2013, at the funeral home.
