Alice Mae Hicks

Alice Mae Hicks, age 85, a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County (the Free Home Community), passed away Monday, September 16, 2013. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church where she enjoyed being a member of the WMU and The Adult Choir. Among her hobbies she enjoyed talking on the phone, singing, her family and the Atlanta Braves. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Hicks; son, Rev. Danny Hicks.



Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Mike Livingston of Free Home; daughter-in-law, Kathy Hicks of Free Home; grandchildren, Courtney and Tim Sweatman of Dawsonville, Tanya Hicks of Free Home, Tamara and Jerry Hales of Free Home; great grandchildren, Canaan, Shiloh and Tekoah Sweatman; brother-in-law, Rev. Herbert Youngblood; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Glen and Gloria Hicks; sister-in-law, Gwen Timms, Doris Hicks, Louie Wilkie, Gladys Mashburn; and a number of other relatives and friends also survive.



Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 18th at 3:00 pm at New Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Purcell, Rev. Wilbur Ridings and Rev. Danny Orr officiating. Interment will follow in New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Monday from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm, Tuesday from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and Wednesday from 10:00 am until hour of the service.
