Johnie L. Sloan

Family and friends mourn the passing of Mr. Johnie L. Sloan, age 85, of Buford, GA on Wednesday, September 11, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Harris Sloan, Buford, GA; daughters and son in law, Christine and Lee Underwood, Buford, GA; and Sheila Ash, Evans, GA; son and daughter in law, Charles B. and Ann Sloan, Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Jeffrey Underwood, Pooler, GA and Jennifer McElmurray, Evans, GA; brother, Marvin Sloan, Dacula, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Sloan was born October 20, 1927 in Anderson, SC. He was a graduate of Eastanollee High School and retired from Georgia Power after forty-two years of service. He was a member of Titusville First Baptist Church in Titusville, FL.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home, 5475 North US Hwy. 1, Cocoa, FL 32927 with Rev. Gene Wilbanks officiating. Entombment will follow at Brevard Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until time for the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Titusville, 303 Main St., Titusville, FL 32796 in memory of Johnie L. Sloan.
