W. A. Wofford

W. A. Wofford, 83, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday September 11, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health.

Born May 22, 1930 in Forsyth County to the late Truman and Lola Wofford, he had lived in Dawson County since 1957 having moved from Hall County. Mr. Wofford retired as a heavy equipment operator for road construction. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was also preceded in death by his wife, Lavell Wilson Wofford.

Surviving are his children, Douglas and Vickie Wofford, Dawsonville, Bradley and Judi Cochran, Gainesville; grandson, Dustin Wofford and his wife Sandy; sisters, Renia Martin, Winder, Joyce Barnes, Gainesville.

Funeral services will be held Friday September 13, 2013 at 1 o'clock at Liberty Baptist Church. Rev. Dennis Bottoms, Rev. Rual Martin, and Rev. Cecil Reeves will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 until 9 at the funeral home.
