James Mitchell

Mr. James Arthur Mitchell, age 83, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away early Monday morning, September 2, 2013 at The Oaks at Limestone Nursing Facility.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:30 pm Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the funeral home. There will be a private inurnment at a later date.

Mr. Mitchell was born on March 9, 1930 in Wheeler County, Georgia, the son of the late Arthur G. Mitchell and Maud (Webster) Mitchell. He was a very jovial, and kind person to be around. He attended Lakewood Baptist Church but was a member at Shiloh Methodist Church in Wheeler County, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Martha and Catherine.

Mr. Mitchell is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty M. and Ted Oglesby of Gainesville; Patsy and Cecil Clark of LaGrange, GA; and sister Mary Wilkes of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Griffin Mitchell of Wheeler County, GA; he is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews and a host of others.
