Calvin Sumner Talley, 71, of Dillard Georgia passed away August 31, 2013 at his residence.
Calvin was born in Scaly Mountain, NC, the son of the late Valerie Burnette Talley and Lawrence Talley. He worked construction most of his life. He helped build nuclear power plants and hydro power plants with the TVA. Calvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and was a loving father and grandfather. He attended Wolffork Christian Fellowship Center.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Dennis Talley, and Gordon Talley.
He is survived by two sons Greg Talley, Shane Talley and wife Cheryl, all of Otto, NC.; two daughters Keisha Kimmer and husband Ronnie of Cleveland, NC., Kendra Ham and husband Brad of Newton, NC.; a special friend Arizona Holt; one brother Garnell Talley of Chatsworth, GA; one sister Geraldine Brown of Dillard, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Lee Talley, Emmaline Talley, Ivy Talley, Garrett Killman, Spencer Talley, Mackenzie Ham, Brianna Ham; three step grandchildren Makayla Kimmer, Trey Kimmer, Samantha Oler. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 2, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Beck Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday September 3, 2013 in the Chapel of Beck Funeral Home with Rev. Harvey Conner and Rev. Roy Conner officiating. Burial will follow in Scaly Methodist Church Cemetery.
