Mrs. Mary Dixon Clark Watson, age 89, of Atlanta, GA passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ray Clark and Levi H. Watson; and son, Vernon E. Clark. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Jean Clark, Cartersville, GA, Bob W. Clark, Roswell, GA, Richard A. and Pat Clark, Buford, GA, Tommy Clark, Cobb County, GA and Charlie Clark, South Carolina; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Ruth Davis, McDonough, GA; brother, Albert Dixon, McDonough, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Watson was born March 20, 1924 in Atlanta, GA and grew up on Fortress Avenue in Atlanta, GA. She was a homemaker and was active in the Democratic Party. She worked in the Jimmy Carter Campaign and visited President Jimmy Carter twice while he was in office and worked at the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum; and she volunteered for Max Cleland Campaign. She volunteered as a Pink Lady for West Paces Ferry Hospital. She was of the Baptist Faith. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA.
