Brenda Smith Merritt Cochran

Funeral Services are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Friday in the Ward's Funeral Home Chapel for Brenda Smith Merritt Cochran age 67 of Maysville formerly of Hall County. The Rev. J.T. Turpin and Rev. Carl Helton will officiate. Interment will follow in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10a.m until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Mrs. Cochran passed away Tuesday August 27 at Landmark Hospital following an extended illness.


Mrs. Cochran was born in Hall County to the late William "Bill" Merritt and Louise Turpin Merritt Griggs. She attended Mercy Baptist Church and was Leader of care ministries and Benefit Singings. Even though her own health was failing she refused to pass up any opportunity to help others. She was preceded in death by her brother Junior Merritt.


Survivors include Husband Odell Cochran, Son and Daughter-in-Law, Ricky and Becky Smith, Son, Tony Smith, Granddaughter, Jessica Smith, Grandson, Steven Smith and Justin Smith, Sister, Doris Merritt Pinion, Nephews, Robert Pinion and Tim Pinion.
