Paul Nelson Pethel, 74, of Talmo, passed away on August 27, 2013 following a period of declining health. Born on August 26, 1939, he was the son of the late E.J. and Winnie Lenora Bloodworth Pethel. A lifetime resident of Talmo, he was retired from General Motors having worked on the Assembly line. He was a member of Talmo Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jennie Lou Underwood.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Pethel of Talmo, children; David Pethel, Amy Gould, Terry Stubblefield, Amy Poss, Beverly Bagwell; sisters, Shirley Watkins, Margaret Beauford; brother, Johnny Pethel; grandchildren, Megan Poss, Chase Poss, Clay Gould, Kayla Gould, Mandy Bagwell and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Talmo Baptist Church. The Rev. Mark Spence and Rev. Frankie Spivey will officiate. Interment will be in Talmo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
