Larry Joe 'Woody' Wood

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Larry Joe "Woody" Wood, 66, of Talmo, Ga. who passed away Wednesday August 21, 2013.



Mr. Wood was born in Talmo, Ga., a son of the late Joe and Mae Bell Gee Wood, was a graduate of The University of Georgia, served as Mayor of Talmo for 24 years, founder of Etcon Staffing Services, and Walnut Creek Turf Farm. Served as Treasurer of J Buck Trail Hunting Club, was Owner of Gum Log and Talmo Partners, and was a member of Talmo Baptist Church.



In addition to his parents, Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Wood.



Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Macie Leeann and Taylor Gary of Talmo, and a sister, Bonnie Wood, Gainesville, Georgia.



Funeral services will be Friday August 23, 2013 at 11:00AM at Talmo Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Spence officiating. Interment will follow in Talmo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday August 22, 2013 at Evans Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M.
