William M. 'Bill' Hughes

Mr. William M. "Bill" Hughes, 81, of Oakwood died Monday August 19, 2013 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.



A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Hughes was the son of the late Jim and Ruth Green Hughes. He was retired from Blue Circle where he had worked for over 40 years. After his retirement from Blue Circle, Mr. Hughes worked for over 10 more years for the Hall County School System as a custodian at West Hall Middle School. Mr. Hughes was an avid Nascar fan and loved Chevrolets. He was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church.



Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Eva Dell Allison Hughes, Oakwood; daughter and son-in-law; Corinila and Danny Hutson, Oakwood; daughter, Colleen Hughes, Gainesville; granddaughter and grandson-in-law; Allison and Chris Honeycutt, Gainesville; great grandson, Dylan Honeycutt, Gainesville; great granddog, Will Honeycutt; brother, Alton Hughes, Gainesville. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday August 22, 2013 in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bobby Brown and Sandra Elrod will officiate. Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday August 21, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
