Tara Messervy

Obituary Date: Monday, August 12, 2013

Tara Messervy passed away Monday, 12 August at 1:36 a.m. after a 6.5 year battle with cancer.

She is survived by her husband, Alex Messervy; Bonus Daughter, Andrea (Mark) Labouchere; grandchildren, Adeline and Luke Labouchere; brother, Alexis (Amy) Lecouras; niece and nephew, Arianna and Alex Lecouras.

Tara was a courageous fighter that refused to give in to the disease that eventually took her. She was a loving grandmother to her Bonus Daughter's two children who knew her as Mimi, as well as a special Aunt to her niece and nephew.

In business she was driven to be successful at whatever she did. She spent four years as a real estate agent at Jenny Pruitt Realtors. She was rookie of the year her first year, made Million Dollar her first year, and each year thereafter. Part of her success could be attributed to the red Cadillac she drove, with which she left a mark on a curb in every neighborhood she worked.

Prior to this, she worked in apartment leasing for ... She and her colleague and friend Denise were known as the "dynamic duo" because the company could send them into any complex to get it filled. Prior to that she ran a Greek style restaurant, Demetri's, in Aiken, SC for about a year. Before that it was her career with Marriott that brought her Atlanta.

Tara loved the beach and the mountains. She was always the life of the party. She loved the finer things in life and never went anywhere without her bling. Her style was immaculate and her taste top-of-the-line. She always knew how to make things 'Mac daddy'. Where ever she went she brought energy and sun-shine and her smile was contagious. She always made sure everyone had a great time when ever in her presence. Her vivacious spirit will never be forgotten. Each person who has known her or known of her will continue to smile when they recall a moment spent with Tara. She was one of a kind.

A Memorial service will be held Friday, August 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church.
