Vera Mae Bailey

Mrs. Vera Mae Bailey, age 91, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Elton Bailey; parents, Harvey and Ollie Bailey; and sister, Verna Bailey Rolin. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Wood, Buford, GA; grandchildren, Shannon Brook and Jay Kiger, Marietta, GA, Bart and Audrey Wood, Braselton, GA and Beth and Hoyt Dennard, Madison, GA; great grandchildren, Mallory and Macy Kiger, Lily Wood, Abby and Bailey Dennard; sister, Hazel Bailey Chesser, Buford, GA; brothers, J. W. and Nell Bailey, Buford, GA and Larry and Doris Bailey, Cleveland, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and special extended family friend, Faye Tolbert Holbrook, Alpharetta, GA. Mrs. Bailey was born August 15, 1921 in Buford, GA. She was a 1939 graduate of Sugar Hill High School and was retired from Scientific Atlanta as head of inspection. She was a member of Sugar Hill Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for over forty years. Funeral service will be Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Pirkle officiating. Interment will follow at Sugar Hill Cemetery in Sugar Hill, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Eagle Ranch, P.O. Box 7200, Chestnut Mountain, GA 30502 in memory of Vera Mae Bailey. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm.
