Winston H. Harben

Winston H. Harben, 79, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday August 11, 2013 at Embracing Hospice following a period of declining health.

Born July 21, 1934 to the late William Boyd and Ethel Harben, he had been a resident of the Juno area his entire life. An avid hunter and outdoorsman, Mr. Harben served in the U.S. Army during the 1950s where he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. He had a degree from Pickens Technical College in machine work and had been employed at numerous shops in the area. He was also preceded in death by brother, Maynard Harben and sister, Lavon Long.

Surviving are his sons and daughters in law, Michael and Fran Harben, Woodstock, Daren and Angi Harben, Athens; grandsons, London Harben, Nick Harben; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 14, 2013 at 12 noon at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tommy Weldy will officiate. Interment will follow in the Juno Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 on Monday and all day Tuesday at the funeral home.
