Jewell Jeannette Newman Johnson

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Jewell Jeannette Newman Johnson, 69, of Flowery Branch, formerly of Jefferson, Ga., who passed away Friday August 9, 2013.



Mrs. Johnson was born in Dallas, Georgia a daughter of the late Joseph Miles Newman and the late Senoia Teal Newman. Mrs. Johnson was a manager of Waffle House in Jefferson for several years. Mrs. Johnson loved cooking and playing bingo. Mrs. Johnson was of the Baptist faith.



In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Earl Johnson, daughter, Senoia Greenmeyer and sister, Mary Carter and sons in law, Tony David Jones and Harry Bernard Greenmeyer.



Survivors include her children, Katie Ann Jones, Cumming, Ga., Wytonia (William) Akins, Jefferson, Ga., Kenneth (Debra) Johnson, Gillsville, Ga., Thomas Johnson, Gillsville, Ga., sister, Shirley Virginia Johnson, Cleveland, Ga., brother, Bobby Joseph Newman, Atlanta, Ga., 9 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren and a number of other relatives.



Funeral Services will be Tuesday August 13, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at Diamond Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Junior Jones, Rev. Roger Hardy and Rev. Randy Beatty officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the funeral time on Tuesday August 13, 2013 at Diamond Hill Baptist Church Unity Church Road, Maysville, Ga. 30558
