Dallas B. Richardson, Jr.,

Obituary Date: Thursday, August 8, 2013


Mr.Richardson was born and raised in Charlotte, NC where he lived until 1963. He was a veteran of World War II with service in Italy and North Africa. He was an employee of Chrysler Corporation for 22 years. He worked with the FBI after retirement from Chrysler. He pursued a variety of volunteer activities. His interest in theaters and railroads continued throughout his life. He was a member of the Theater Historical Society and a frequent traveler on the Southern Crescent train to Atlanta as a railroad enthusiast.



Mr. Richardson was active in civic affairs for the city of College Park for many years. He was known as the "Night Mayor of College Park". On the words of people who knew him best, he was "one of a kind". He was a member of First Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC where he attended until moving to College Park. Mr. Richardson attended the Catholic Student Center at the University of Maryland where he enjoyed worshipping with students.



He is survived by a niece, Jan McLelland Carr, and her husband, Rev. Dr. Bill Carr, and a host of caring staff at the Community Living Center of the VAMC.



Body donation was made to Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland.



Interment will be at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, NC.
