Mrs. Geraldine Tankersley Adams, 93, of Chicopee, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 4, 2013.
Born in Alliance Ohio on February 18, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Frank B. and Martha Lord Moore. Mrs. Adams was saved and joined the church at the age of 12. She was a member of Chicopee Baptist Church for 30 plus years. She was a Librarian at Johnson High School for a number of years before her retirement.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands, Bert Tankersley and Maurice D. Adams; daughter, Phyllis Tankersley; daughter in law, Angela Lewis Tankersley; brother, Frank A. Moore and sister, Billie Gilstrap.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Sandra and Darrell Kerr of Maryville, TN; sons and daughters in law, Buster and Brenda Tankersley of Flowery Branch, Tony and Ellene Tankersley of Gainesville; daughter and son in law, Suzanne and Allen Guthrie of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Scott and Sandra Tankersley of Cumming; sisters, Joan Bridges, Betty Reed both of Gainesville, Paula Allen of Dahlonega; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Taylor and Rev. Phil Carpenter will officiate. Interment will be in Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
