Helen Marie Nichols McGinnis

Helen Marie Nichols McGinnis, age 83, of Cumming, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013.

She graduated from Forsyth County High School in 1947 and went on to work at the Lockheed Nuclear Laboratory from 1966 to 1970. She later retired from Electromagnetic Sciences INC in 1996 after being with them for 25 years. Helen was a loving Christian mother and wife and is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. John McGinnis and her parents, James and Louise Nichols.

Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Melissa McGinnis; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Mickey McGinnis; grandchildren, Michael McGinnis (Tempest Godwin), Ginny (Frank) Madonna; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dan and Juanita McGinnis; sister-in-law, Christine Taylor; Special Care Givers, Abby Delong, Janie Shelton, Sherry Jinxs, Myra Moore, Marge Higgins, Melba Stieglitz, Jan McConnell, Pam Rogers, Charlotte Phillips and other wonderful helpers, loving family and friends.


Funeral services will be held Monday, August 5, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Hyatt officiating.

Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, from 2 to 9 p.m. and on Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
