Mr. Tommy Yancy, age 67, of Buford, GA passed away Monday, July 29, 2013
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ada Yancy; brothers, Gerald Piper, James Piper and Kenneth Piper. He is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Youn Ja Kim Yancy, Buford, GA; twin sister and brother in law, Margaret and Joe Park, Buford, GA; brother, Carl Edward Piper, Buford, GA; sister in law, Trudy Piper Upshaw, Young Harris, GA; nieces, Penny Piper Miltiades, Julie Piper Bailey, Barbara Robinson and Lisa Humphrey; nephews, K. C. Davis, Steve Piper, Wayne Piper and Rex Humphrey; aunt, Ola Jean Kornegay; sisters in law, Ann Burell Piper and Ann Wallis Piper; several cousins; and best friends, Buddy Beard and Richard Shelton. Mr. Yancy was born October 23, 1945 in Albertville, AL and was a veteran serving in the United States Army. He received his education from Buford High School and was owner of Yancy Rebuild Service and Citywide Starters and Alternators. He was a former member and past master of the Buford Masonic Lodge, No 292 F&AM.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Shadburn officiating.
Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
