Newton B. 'Skeets' Copelan, Jr.,

Newton B. ("Skeets") Copelan, Jr., age 71, of Cumming, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013. Skeets is preceded in death by Newton B. & Aileen True Copelan.



Skeets proudly participated in many Masonic Bodies. He began his Masonic career on January 21, 1975 when he became a Master Mason of Lafayette Lodge #44. While with Lafayette Lodge #44 he was Worshipful Master in 1983, also served as Treasurer for 24 years and 9th District Convention Worshipful Master from 2002 to 2003. He was a Charter Member of Charity Daylight Lodge #754 and served as District Deputy Grand Master from 1985 to 2009 and Chairman of 9th D.D.G.M. from 2006 to 2009. In 1975 he became a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Atlanta Orient of Georgia, member of KCCH, 33 Degree Mason, Recipient of Double Eagle Award, and worked with the stage crew setting up and taking down, raising and lowering of drops and assisting on light board.
