Mr. Jimmy R. "Jim" Martin, age 66, of Suwanee, GA passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Launa Roper Martin; and brother, Sanford Ray Martin. He is survived by his children, Traci Martin Schwartz, Loganville, GA and Zac and Karla Simon Martin, Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Sara Schwartz, Casey Schwartz, Ansley Maddox and Jacob Martin; brothers and sister in law, William Martin, Tampa, FL, Keith and Alma Martin, Anderson, SC and Ronnie Martin, Smyrna, GA; sisters, Jan Martin Wilson, Suwanee, GA and Shirley Martin Ayers and husband Terrell, Raleigh, NC; sister in law, Ruth Martin, Hartwell, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Martin was born March 3, 1947 in Hartwell, GA and was a 1965 graduate of Hart County High School. He was retired from Sherwood Foods in Atlanta and also worked for several years in his career at Colonial Foods, Big Star and Cub Food. He was an avid golfer and was a member of Reed Creek Baptist Church in Hartwell, GA.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Dr. Lamar Holley officiating.
