Mrs. Betty Jane Hannah McFadden, 85, of Gainesville, Ga. went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Betty was born in Portsmouth, OH, daughter of the late Paul and Betty Jones Hannah.
Betty grew up on the Hannah farm in Pactolus, KY. Her family moved to Wheeling, WV during her high school years where she graduated from Wheeling High School.
She married Marlin Winning McFadden in August of 1958 and moved to Youngstown OH to become entrepreneurs. Marlin passed away in 1994 and Betty retired and moved to Gainesville, Ga. to live near her children. She was a member of Lanier Christian Church in Gainesville. Throughout her years, she was always a faithful and active member to her Lord as a Sunday school teacher and Youth Group leader. A special star of her later years was her granddaughter, Hannah Gracelyn Sweeney.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Marlin McFadden, two brothers, Albert and Billy Hannah and one sister, Virginia Jenny Hannah Dean.
She is survived by her son, Timothy McFadden; daughter Janifer McFadden Sweeney and husband Sean Sweeney; granddaughter, Hannah Gracelyn Sweeney all of Ga. She is also survived by extended family of nieces and nephews, and many special friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Lanier Christian Church. Rev. David Simpson will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church after the service.
