Mildred 'Sally' Cathey Rayner

Mildred "Sally" Cathey Rayner, age 78, of Clarkesville, Georgia, formerly of Alpharetta, Georgia, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 15, 2013, at her residence.



Mrs. Rayner was born on October 24, 1934, in Clarkesville, Georgia; daughter of the late Robert Hershel and Leatha Jones Cathey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Jack Rayner; sisters, Mary Cathey Anderson and Edith Cathey Dark; and brothers, Robert, Marvin, and Odell Cathey. Mrs. Rayner attended Bible Way Baptist Church and was a member of Field of the Woods Baptist Church in Cumming. Sally was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Troy Webb, Cornelia, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, William Jerry and Jean Rayner, Martin, GA and Robert Keith and Jill Rayner, Gillsville, GA; sisters, Louise Dover, Mt. Airy, GA and Virginia Carter, Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren and their spouses, Johnathon and Kristi Rayner, Melissa and David Ubriaco, Christopher and Kerri Webb, Curt and Orienda Roach, Jana J. and Brad Owen, and Waylon and Leigh Roach; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Dennis Dills officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at the funeral home.
