Johnny Lee Stamey

Johnny Lee Stamey, age 60, of Canton, GA passed away Monday, July 15, 2013 at Embracing Hospice in Forsyth County following an extended illness.

Mr. Stamey was a lifelong resident of Alpharetta and Dahlonega, and a carpenter for Willis Peels. He was a loving father, grandfather, and devoted friend, and was a member of Hickory Flat Church of God in Cherokee County.

He was the son of the late James Lee and Bonnie Marie Nichols Stamey, and also preceded in death by his brothers, Lee Jr., Eric, Jack, Hubert, and Billy Stamey.

Johnny is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Nina Stamey, Murrayville, GA; Phillip and Tina Stamey, Dawsonville, GA; brother, Jerry Stamey, Tennessee; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Randy Arons, Canton, GA; and grandchildren, Winter, Hunter, Kody, and Tanner Stamey. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Johnny are scheduled for 11 AM Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. John Boyd, Terry Temples, and Lucy Temples will officiate.

Graveside services will be at 2 PM Thursday, July 18 in the Alpharetta City/ Rest Haven Cemetery in Alpharetta, GA.

The family will receive friends from 4 PM until 9 PM Wednesday, July 17 at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega.
