Mary Bevill Kennedy

Mary Bevill Kennedy, age 72, of Springfield, Ga. passed away Sunday July 14, 2013 at home in Buford, Ga. with her family at her side. She was diagnosed with cancer in March 2013. A visitation and celebration of her life will be held on Saturday July 20 at 2-5PM at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, Ga. No funeral or graveside services will be held.

Mary was born on a farm in rural Effingham County Georgia to Clyde and Susie Bell Bevill on June 17, 1941. She graduated from Effingham County High School and secretarial college in Savannah, Ga. She married Thomas Eugene Kennedy on August 27, 1960 at Springfield Baptist Church in Springfield, Ga. She worked as an executive secretary at the University of Georgia and also at Georgia Pacific in Augusta, Ga. and Savannah, Ga. She later worked as office manager for Dr. Kennedy from 1983-1993.

Mary was preceded in death by Clyde and Susie Bell Bevill (parents). She is survived by Thomas Eugene Kennedy, husband; Nicole C. Kennedy, daughter; Rogers Bevill, brother; Mark Bevill, nephew, Meloney Exley, niece; Louise Miness and Linda Cowart, sisters in law.

She was past president and an active member of the Stonehedge Garden Club. Mary had a deep love for flowers and nature, birds, and bears.
