Jasper 'Clinton' Carter

Jasper "Clinton" Carter, known as Clinton or Clint, was born March 18, 1929 and went to be with The Lord on July 14, 2013.
As a veteran of the Korean War, Clinton served his country in the U.S. Army. Clinton is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ruth Carter; one son, Steven (Jackie) Carter; 3 step-children, Sandra (Robert) Ingram, David (Paulette) Stripland, Allen Stripland; one granddaughter; eleven step-grandchildren; one great granddaughter; eighteen step great grandchildren; one brother, Elbert (Elizabeth) Carter; one sister, Cora Jean Goodwin; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
As a small business owner, Clinton provided for his family and displayed a great work ethic. After God and family, Clinton's love was music. As a 38 year member of Pleasant View Baptist, he sang in the choir and accompanied them on the guitar. Music attainments include induction into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame in 2002; six years in the "Reach of Song" play at the Hiawassee Mountain Fair; and musical competitions all over the United States. Clinton was a wonderful caring man who was loved by everyone.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 16 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry McCormick, Rev. Jerry Frazier and Rev. Shad Faulkner officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
