Dewey Eugene Odom

Mr. Dewey Eugene Odom, age 82, of Greenville, SC, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013.

Mr. Odom moved from Dacula, GA to Greenville, SC in 2005. He retired after 21 years of service in the United States Army as a Master Sergeant. He owned his own tree service business for 35 years after his retirement, and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Odom was the son of the late Talmadge and Blanche Brackett Odom, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Louise Willis Odom; brothers, J.T., Barney, and Fred Odom; sisters, Louise Gillespie, Lila Mae Gibson; and daughter-in-law, Vicki Odom.

Mr. Odom is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Sandra Odom, Buford, GA; son, Sidney Odom, Dahlonega, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Dustin Wambeke, Greenville, SC; brother, Guy Odom, Powder Springs, GA; sister, Susie Sims, Sumter, SC; and grandchildren, Scott, Kyle, and Justin Odom, and Tal Wambeke. A number of other relatives also survive.

A graveside service for Mr. Odom is scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County with full military honors provided by the Veteran's Alliance Honor Guard..

Rev. JR Fields will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 4PM until 8PM on Saturday, July 13, 2013.
