Annette Floyd Wieland

Mrs. Annette Floyd Wieland, age 86 of Sacramento, CA passed away peacefully at her home at 2088 University Park Drive on 7/8/2013.
Born May 20, 1927 in Gainesville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Olin and Annie Maudlin Floyd. She was reared in Gainesville where she attended public schools and graduated from Gainesville High School in 1945.
Her husband, George is deceased, as well as her sister, Geneva Durkee, and her brother, Denman Floyd.
Mrs. Wieland began her career with Southern Bell Telephone Company in Gainesville and later relocating with the company to Atlanta, GA and Miami, FL. With the mergers of Southern Bell, and Pacific Bell with American Telephone & Telegraph Co. she moved into management positions that led her to Sacramento, CA. In 1977 she met and married George Wieland. In 1993 she retired as regional manager with AT & T after a lifetime career in the communications field.
Mrs. Wieland remained active in her retirement, spending time with friends and traveling to Georgia frequently to spend time with her family. She served for twenty years as a volunteer at the Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento, CA and was honored and proud to receive the volunteer of the year award.
She leaves behind her sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Hoyt Robinson of Dahlonega, GA and Margaret and Harold Jones of Camden, DE as well her two granddaughters and a great grandson by marriage, and her nephew and several nieces
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 PM on Monday July 15 at Wards Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday July 15 in Alta Vista Cemetery. The Rev. William Hutcheson will officiate.
