Jimmie Austin Harris

Jimmie Austin Harris, 72, of Clayton, Georgia died July 12, 2013 at 8:45am from an extended illness. He was the husband of Dorothy Harris.

Born in Commerce, Georgia May 29, 1941 to the late William P. Harris and surviving mother Doris Harris. Jim was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was retired from a fifty year banking career. He was a member of the Clayton Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife Dottie Harris of the home, one son, Jeffrey and Lisa Harris of Dillard, Ga., two grandchildren Lauren and Tyler Harris also of Dillard, Ga., two sisters, Joan Akin of Carnesville, Ga., Gwen Whitworth, Toccoa Ga., one brother, William Harris of SC. Several nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

The body has been cremated and the family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home from 1 PM until 3 PM Sunday July 14, 2013. A memorial service will follow at 3 PM in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel.
