Mr. James Randall Cape, age 78, of Gainesville, passed away on Saturday, July 06, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 09, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, North Riverside, with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Bradley Elliott and Reverend Sam Robinson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 08, 2013 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the North Riverside Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mr. Cape was born on January 08, 1935 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Holman Cape and Edith Simms Cape. He served in United Sates Army- 82nd Airborne. He was employed with Gainesville Fire Department and Hall County Fire Department. He owned and operated Capes Motorcycle's Sales for 15 years before retiring and was a member of Springway Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, Kelly Pittman, sisters, Betty Roberts and Louise Mangrum, and brothers, Roy Cape and Vernon Cape.
Mr. Cape is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Miller Cape of Gainesville, daughters, Jackie Byers and Jamie Pittman, grand-daughter, Jordon Aycock, grand-daughter and husband, Jessica and Kris Diaz, grand-son and wife, James "Jimmy" and Lauren Byers, grand-daughters, Chelsea Pittman Mangum, Caitlyn Pittman, and Cassidy Pittman, great-granddaughters, Kaylee Jo Aycock, and Sara Stephens, great- grandsons, Karter James Aycock, Levi James Stephens, and Liam Kelly Mangum, sister-in-law, Jean Jenkins of Gainesville, and a number of other family members.
