Douglas Franklin Brown, 70, of Gainesville, died Friday, July 5, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday July 8, 2013 at the Springway Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Morgan and the Rev. Bradley Elliott officiating, interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday July 7, 2013 at the funeral home.
Mr. Brown was a native and lifetime resident of Hall County, born to Ernest and Theresa Mae Humphries Brown. He was a member of Springway Baptist Church where he was chairman of the Pastoral Leadership Team. He enjoyed mission work and was very active in and around the Hall County area as well as organizing many mission trips to Hazard County Kentucky. He owned and operated Browns Farmers Market for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Brown; daughter and son in law, Sharon and Wade Villyard; sons and daughter in laws, Dennis and Janice Williamson, David and Cari Williamson, and Doug and Jessica Williamson; brothers and sisters in law, Stanley and Rhonda Brown, and Ricky and Carol Brown; sister and brother in law, Sandra and Bobby Prickett; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren
