Marion Briggs Williamson, 83, of Gainesville, passed away July 1, 2013 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Marion was a native of Fort Lauderdale FL., she is preceded in death by her parents the late George and Eva Briggs, four sisters, her twin sister Mildred Stickney, sisters Martha Johnson, and Audrey Neece, and good friend Ray Mooney.
Marion was of the Lutheran Faith, when her health would allow her to she would attend Restoration Baptist Church.
Marion is survived by her three children, son and daughter-in-law Ken and Cyndi Ford of Knoxville TN, son and daughter-in-law Steve and Lisa Williamson of Lula GA, daughter and son-in-law Diane and Terry Patrick of Winder GA, Grandchildren, Corey Ford, Charlotte, North Carolina, Christopher Williamson, Gainesville, GA, Amanda Williamson, Gainesville, GA and a number of nieces and nephews.
Marion retired from the food service industry after working many years as a waitress in many of Gainesville's restaurants.
Her family would like to give a heartfelt Thank you to her doctor, Robert Klassen and his staff, the representatives and nurses of Gentive Hospice as well as the nurses and staff of United Home healthcare and Restoration Baptist Church and Greater Love Baptist Church for all their loving care and prayers.
Funeral services will be held Friday July 5, 2013 at 1:00pm from the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Truelove, and Rev. Joey Yeary officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday July 3, 2013 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-9pm at the funeral home.
