Jerry Hyde

Jerry Hyde, age 78, of Cumming, GA, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Halcyon Hospice House in Sandy Springs, GA. He was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Cora Lee Hyde and his first wife, Christine Rice.



Jerry is survived by his wife, Brenda and children Karen (and Tim) Skidmore of Monroe, GA, Leslie (and Robert) Lott of Huntsville, AL, and Mike (and Susan) Hyde of Winder, GA. Grandchildren are Andrew (and Amber) and Chris Skidmore and John and Brantley Lott, brothers David and wife Wanda of Cumming, GA, and Jim and wife Margaret of Lexington, KY and two nieces and one nephew.



Jerry was born February 6, 1935, in Atlanta, GA. He graduated from high school in Emminence, KY, and Georgetown College in Kentucky. Jerry retired from IBM in 1990 having worked in Atlanta, Greensboro, NC and Albany, NY.



He was a charter member of Johns Creek Baptist Church having served as a deacon and for years as a greeter in the preschool area. His personality and smile radiated to all with whom he came in contact.



His Memorial service will be in the sanctuary of Johns Creek Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m., Friday July 5, 2013 with visitation preceding the service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Sandy Springs. Rev. David White, Jill Jenkins and Dr. Bill Self will officiate.
