Zelma R. Bannister

Zelma R. Bannister, age 90, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at the Northridge Nursing Home in Commerce. She was born Zelma Katherine Reidling on November 18, 1922, in Jackson County, GA, the daughter of Ola Herbert and Thomas D. Reidling. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1939, and received a bachelor of arts degree in home economics from the University of Georgia in 1943. She was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.
She formerly taught school at Bold Springs School in Jackson County, and served as Home Demonstration Agent for the Agricultural Extension Service in Forsyth County for 30 years, retiring at the end of 1979.
She is survived by a son, William "Bill" Warren. She was married to Henry Grady Bannister of Cumming from 1950 until his death in 2001. Her earlier marriage to the late William C. Warren ended in divorce.
Entombment will be held at Sawnee View at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.
