Mark Evan Speed

Mr. Mark Evan Speed, age 56, of Oakwood, GA and formerly of Buford, GA passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013.

He is survived by his wife of four years, Barbara Lynn Speed, Buford, GA; children, Jessica Speed, Braselton, GA and Kali Speed, Braselton, GA; parents, Bill and Naida Speed, Gainesville, GA; brothers, Brian and Marla Speed, Montgomery, TX and R. Keith and Lynne Speed, Buford, GA; five nieces; two nephews; several cousins; and step children, Brandon Johnson, Stockbridge, GA, Ryan Johnson, Buford, GA and Chelsea Johnson, Buford, GA.

Mark was born September 26, 1956 in Selma, AL. He was a 1975 graduate of North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, GA and attended the University of Georgia. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch, GA.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Eric Hill serving as Celebrant with a reception to follow the service. Following the reception, interment will be at Memorial Park South Cemetery in Flowery Branch, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Buford Ministerial Association or Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch, GA in memory of Mark Speed.
