Sandra J. Mulkey

Sandra J. Mulkey, 61, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday June 5, 2013 at Northside Forsyth Hospital following a short illness.

Born June 29, 1951 in Dekalb County to the late Alvin and Clara Mae Castleberry, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. A homemaker at her death, Mrs. Mulkey was employed for many years as a quality control inspector for Panduit. Sandra was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by her grandsons, Austin Day and Ricky Hughes; sisters, Sybil Blackwell, Shirley Glass; and brothers, Kenneth Castleberry and Willard Castleberry.

Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Kenneth Mulkey, Dawsonville; children, Keith and DeAne Mulkey, Dawsonville, Kim and Scott Day, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Jordan Day, Nicole Mulkey, Philip Day, Mathew Hughes; brother and sister in law, Cletis and Veronia Castleberry, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Saturday June 8, 2013 at 3 o'clock at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Rev. Jason Hamby, Rev. Steve Chadwick, Rev. Gary Keown, and Rev. Chris White will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
