Dolores Moore 'Doty' Sims

Mrs. Dolores Moore "Doty" Sims, age 69, of Buford, GA passed away Thursday, June 06, 2013 after a 4½-year battle with ovarian cancer.

She was preceded in death by her father, James F. Moore. She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Douglas Sims, Buford, GA; children, Stacy and Brad Padgett, Cumming, GA and Shannon and Kerry Skelton, Buford, GA; grandchildren, Caleb Padgett, Clay Padgett and Kadie Skelton; mother, Nellie McMichael Moore, Thomaston, GA; brother and sister in law, Michael and Lisa Moore, Snellville, GA; brother in law, Jerry and Martha Sims, Marietta, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Sims was born November 11, 1943 in Thomaston, GA. She was a 1961 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Thomaston, GA, and she was a 1965 graduate of West Georgia College in Carrollton, GA where she received her Bachelor's Degree. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Sugar Hill United Methodist Church, a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, and a volunteer for several functions of the church.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Sugar Hill United Methodist Church with Dr. Richard Hunter and Rev. Mari Lane Brooks officiating. There will be a visitation and reception at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sugar Hill United Methodist Church in memory of Doty Sims.
