James Thomas Pritchard, Jr.

James Thomas Pritchard, Jr., age 65, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his wife and family on Sunday, June 2, 2013 after an extended illness.

James, or "Tom" as he was called by most, was born in Atlanta, GA on February 23, 1948. He graduated from Forest Park High School in 1967, and then attended a vocational school for aircraft mechanics in Americus, GA. He then spent 35 years in the field of aviation as a mechanical parts inspector before taking early retirement at the age of 55.

Tom was the son of Hedy Pritchard and the late James Thomas Pritchard, Sr. of Rising Fawn, GA. He spent 45 years happily married to his high school sweetheart, Shirley Brooks Pritchard, and is survived by her and their two daughters: Bonnie Currier and Christy Taylor. He is also survived by a brother, Edward Pritchard; seven grandchildren: Jacob Coulter, Christopher, Lucas, Justin, and Morgan Marr, Savannah Karlak, and Stephen Currier. Other surviving family members include: Tim Brooks, Jonathan Currier, Greg Taylor, Martha Brooks and family, Darryl and Millie Stull and family, Dennis and Diane Hill and family, Sarah Carter and family, Jessica Mangum and family.

A memorial service for Tom is scheduled for 12 Noon Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, Georgia.
