Harold Edward "Ed" Hallford

Obituary Date: Monday, June 3, 2013
Graveside service for Harold Edward "Ed" Hallford, age 88, of Demorest will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 2:00 PM from the Bethel Temple Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery. Rev. Jerrell Beatty will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 3, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Born in Habersham County, Georgia on December 27, 1924 Mr. Hallford was the son of the late Jim and Myrtle Hightower Hallford. Mr. Hallford was a United States Army Veteran having served during WWII. Ed was part of the unit assigned to guarding Generals Eisenhower, Patton, and Bradley while the plans for the D-Day invasion were being made. Mr. Hallford retired from the Westinghouse Air Brake Company with 26 years of loyal service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hallford is preceded in death by brothers Loy, Clarence, Willie, Hughie, Jerry, and Jimmy Hallford, and sisters Wilma Hallford and Lucille Church.

Survivors include his wife Sarah Mildred Elrod Hallford of Demorest, daughter and son in law Kaye and Bryan Allen of Toccoa and daughter Debbie Sutton of Demorest, son and daughter in law Keith and Jennie Hallford of Demorest, brother and sister in law Raymond and Lorain Hallford, grandchildren and their spouses Brant and Dana Sanders, Trent and Kortni Sanders, Jennifer and Jake Porter, and Brooke and Ryan Stancil, as well as eight great grandchildren.
