Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Kenneth Anthony Edwards, age 67, of Jefferson, who passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2013.

Mr. Edwards was born in Jefferson, GA, a son to the late W.F. and Eva Davis Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Vietnam where he was a Purple Heart recipient; he was a member of the Victory Baptist Church and the Jackson County Cattleman's Association, and is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Whitlock Edwards, and brothers, E.J. Edwards and Larry Edwards.

Survivors include his sons, Andy Edwards, Jefferson, Mark Edwards, Athens, Caleb Edwards, Jefferson, sisters, Peggy Cochran, Commerce, Margaret Mooney, Carnesville, Betty Miller, Commerce, Donnette Bowles, Commerce, and 6 grandchildren, Kayley Edwards, Emily Edwards, David Coombs, Noah Coombs, Lilly Edwards, Jackson Edwards, several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Andy Edwards, Rev. Swayne Cochran and Rev. Albert Whitlock officiating. The burial will follow in the Jackson Memorial Park with Danny Edwards, Tim Coley, Matthew Edwards, Phillip Edwards, Timmy Edwards and Joe McMullen honored as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Jackson, Royce Cash, Lloyd McClure, Carey Carter, Justin Weeks, Brian Bullock, Darryl Tullis and Dave Mooney. The visitation will be held on Friday from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at the funeral home.
