Lonnie Earl Mcalum

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mr. Lonnie Earl McAlum, age 81 of Cleveland. Mr. McAlum passed away Tuesday at his residence following an extended illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00pm, Friday, May 30, 2013 from the funeral home chapell with Rev. Bill Trotter officiating .

Lonnie was born in Wheeler County,Georgia on September 22, 1931 to the late Lem McAlum and Bessie Browning McAlum. He was a painter by trade and had lived in White County since 1993, moving from the Atlanta area.

He is preceded in death by his son, Bruce McAlum, sisters, Gladys Hickox and Editha Whited as well as a brother Earl McAlum.

Lonnie is survived by his wife, Gracie Cagle, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Sharon McAlum of Pearl City, Hawaii; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Paul Fuller, Cleveland, Step daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Keith Dodd , Clarkesville, Willen Gabriels and Jorge Guillen of Mt. Airy, Debra and Michael Gabriels of Clarkesville and step daughter , Sylvia Harris of Mt. Airy; sister, Leah Johnson of Thomaston, Georgia as well as 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00am to 12:00pm and from 1:00pm until the funeral hour
