Hugh Duncan Peck

Mr. Hugh Duncan Peck, age 85, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 following an extended illness.

Hugh was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, GA. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was dearly loved by his family. He was a retired poultry farmer and was a member of Cavender's Creek Baptist Church. Hugh also served his country in the United States Army.

Mr. Peck was the son of the late Thomas and Bessie Duckett Peck, and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Paul, Jewell and Henry Peck; sister, Jackie Bird.

Hugh is survived by his wife of 68 years, Johnnie Early Peck; daughter, Deborah Page, Dahlonega, GA; sister, Sammy Saxon, Murrayville, GA; grandchildren, Chad Grizzle, Amy Anderson, Nolan Grizzle, all of Dahlonega, GA. Great grandchildren, Kolby Ray, Loagan Ray, Madison Ray, Cole Grizzle, Kaden Grizzle, Alexis Grizzle, Calla Grizzle, Emma Grizzle and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Hugh are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Cavender's Creek Baptist Church in Lumpkin County, GA.

Rev. Stephen Adams and Rev. Larry Forrester will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 PM until 4 PM and 5 PM until 9 PM, Friday, May 24 and 9 AM until
1 PM, Saturday, May 25 at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega.
