J.C. Gibson

Mr. J.C. Gibson, age 72, of Murrayville, GA, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 following an extended illness.

J.C. was a lifelong resident of Murrayville, GA, and had spent the last several years in Florida. He was a retired welder and of the Baptist Faith. He served his country in the United States Army.

Mr. Gibson was the son of the late E.L. and Bertha Gibson Sullens, and was also preceded in death by his step father, Price Sullens; and brother and sister-in-law, James and Ginny Gibson.

J.C. is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Shannon E. and Hilda Gibson, Pendergrass, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Amanda and Robert Wertherington, Fort McCoy, FL, Lisa and Robert Dodd, Demorest, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, E.L. Jr. and Karen Gibson, Gainesville, GA, Carl and Christy Gibson, Cornelia, GA, Dr. Larry and Pat Gibson, Gainesville, GA; sister, Shirley Freeman, Rapid City, SD; and sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Allen Chapman, Murrayville, GA. Six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for J.C. are scheduled for 11AM Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Kyle Gibson will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 9 PM Thursday, May 23, 6 PM until 9 PM Friday, May 24, and 9 AM until 11 AM Saturday, May 25 at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega.
