Billy Griffin Hix

Mr. Billy Griffin Hix, age 77, of Commerce, GA died Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hix was born in Commerce to the late Alfred and Gertrude Williams Hix. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Commerce and was retired from the United States Postal Service. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hix was preceded in death by his son, Keith Hix and brother, Al Hix.

Mr. Hix is survived by his wife, Darthy Garrison Hix of Commerce; daughter, Lisa Maddox of Commerce; son, Scott Hix of Bristol, VA; sisters, Jean Hix Ford of Commerce and Anne Hix Epps of Athens; grandchildren, Caleb Jordan, Peyton Maddox and Madison Maddox all of Commerce, Aaron Hix and Hannah Hix both of Bristol, VA and Britney Hix and Cole Hix both of Commerce; great-grandchild, Jedediah Griffin Jordan of Commerce.

Funeral services will be at 3 PM, Wednesday, May 22 at the First Baptist Church of Commerce with Dr. Carlton Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday night from 6 to 8 PM.
