Wilburn W. Sullens

Mr. Wilburn W. Sullens, age 72, of Blairsville, GA, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 following an extended illness.

Mr. Sullens was born and raised in Lumpkin County and had spent the last 7 years with his niece Cricket Sullens in Blairsville, GA who had devoted her time to lovingly take care of him. He retired from as a foreman at Fieldale Farms and was a Southern Baptist.

Wilburn was the son of the late Winslow and Annie Teal Sullens, and was also preceded in death by his mother, Annie Lee Sullens; daughter, Retha Ann Murphy; granddaughter, Kristie Dills; brothers, Dan, Jeff, Paul, Jimmy, Homer, Eugene & Leon Sullens; sisters, Virginia Mincey and Lucille Gentilley.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Mark Anthony and Miranda Sullens, Cleveland, GA, Danny and Cathie Sullens, Conway, AR; daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Slim Boutwell, Ballground, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Hoyt Sullens, Commerce, GA, W.D. and Barbara Sullens, Simpsonville, SC; special niece, Cricket Sullens, Blairsville, GA. 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Wilburn are scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Banister Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. J.R. Fields and Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.

Interment will follow at Saint Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 6 PM until 9 PM, Sunday, May 19, 2013, 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM, Monday, May 20, 2013 and 9 AM until time of service, Tuesday, May 21, 2013.
